Length of Rangefinder Lanyard

Im about to buy a rangefinder lanyard from FHF and wanted to know if anyone bought the short length and wished they got the long. I plan on carrying it on my bino harness but not sure if there is a chance it'll be put elsewhere, like on a belt.

I bought the short from FHF and Outdoor Vision, both work fine mounted on my bino harness.

I run the short on mine and the length is fine.

I have the long and it works fine, I'm sure the short would work as well. I kept my rangefinder in my hip belt pouch. Seemed to work well there. As long as its short enough, so when you drop it, it doesn't reach the ground, you'll be ok.
