Leica Geovid Pro Technical Resource

What Bino harness are ya'll finding works with these? I'd like to keep the RRS Arca mount strapped to it.

i run a stone glacier bino harness, i prefer it over the kuiu i had. i run a Aziak arca mount though, so it is very compact.

On another note, i purchased a pair of 10x42 geovid pro's after selling my 3200.com's. I get them and it asked for a firmware update, i do the update and when i turn the bino's on, i get a spinning red reticle that continues indefinitely. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery, then you press any button and it starts again. I had the binoculars in my possession for less the 8 hours when this occurred. I reached out to leica, they tell me to send them in (on my dime), which i do. I am then told they need to send them to the factory, with zero timeline indicated. it has now been a month since i shipped them out with no idea when they will return, and i was forced to have to borrow binoculars for a match today.

I am hopeful they get them fixed and that they are in fact better than the 3200.com's. I am just a little irritated at the inconvenience after buying new binoculars from a dealer, but i am posting this as more of a caution to anyone else, might be worth trying to return them to the dealer rather than having them repaired.

I’m not getting any correction value to read after I range. I have MOA selected in the profile. Any tips?

This is concerning because it seems the geovids are not stand alone (a tid bit Leica left out of the commercials). They promote all these fancy features however the bino themselves don't do anything "new" except take a bearing when range finding for the purposes of adding a pin to your basemap. BTW, you have to subscribe to basemap pro for that feature to work, another $39.99/year. Distance and bearing data are sent to the app wear all the "work" is done. I believe the wind speed and direction is taken from a weather app, and the pressure and temp could be doing the same thing as your phone knows where you are. Theoretically the data possibilities are endless through app data and it's cheaper and faster to write a new app then build a new bino. Without your phone in your pocket how useful are these? I still have my geovid HD-B which I was going to sell. I'm having second thoughts now. Yah all the shooting data had to be loaded on a sim card and put in the bino, however no phone needed.
I am new to this forum, and I’ve just acquired a pair of Leica Geovid 10x42 AB+ and have paired it with the ballistics app with the bino set to ballistic, but I have not noticed any of the app’s data being transferred to the bino, same lack of data when paired with my Kestrel. Shouldn’t I be seeing correction data in the bino, or did I overlook a setting, either in the Ap, Kestrel or the bino?
Thank you in advance.

Bringing this thread back from the grave.

I recently pulled out these binos and they *of course* needed a firmware update.

Since the firmware update, they'll display range but no dope comes up after. Anyone else experienced this?

Could firmware update have cleared your profile?

Figured it out - went through the "Rangefinder Settings" and the firmware update must have changed my "custom" display setting that lets you set the order of data displayed; position 2 had been turned off.

Seems to be the best place to find this answer!

I have a pair of geovid pro 32s and I’m trying to figure out the best way to to make a profile with a Huskemaw scope (which it’s dial uses 1/3” moa click) instead of the usual 1/4”. Just wondering if I should use the MOA setting in the ballistic app when making a gun profile.

I believe there's a way, in the profile, to adjust the actual click value. They have that because scopes aren't always exactly what they say like a .1 being .12 or something like that.
