Leica Announces Amplus 6 Riflescope Series

Leica Sport Optics has launched a newly developed premium riflescope series - Leica Amplus 6. Featuring 6x zoom and reticle illumination in a 30mm design, Amplus combines high quality optical performance in a feature rich and robust construction for everyday all-around use.

Leica Amplus 6 balances premium optical performance with rugged features and is complimented by the extremely sharp illuminated dot, 6x zoom, large exit pupil and wide field of view. The robust design makes the Leica Amplus 6 ideal for uncompromising use in any situation, even in the most adverse conditions.

The extra-precise, illuminated reticles of the Amplus 6 ensure fast target acquisition and a particularly sharp and brilliant image of the illuminated dot - without annoying over-radiation. This means that users always have a clear sight picture, even in challenging light conditions. The Leica L-4a reticle serves as a tried and true universal hunting reticle for precise shooting. The Leica L-Ballistics reticle enables precision shooting at longer distances. Both reticles are in the second focal plane.

Leica Amplus 6 – Reliable and dependable for all-around use

When developing the Amplus 6, Leica placed great emphasis on the high-quality components of the functional elements. ‘Ferdinand Mogwitz, Product Manager Hunting Optics at Leica Camera AG, commented: “The Amplus 6 ensures reliability and precision at the critical moment. We rely on the proven Leica DNA: color-neutral images with brilliant color correction, effective stray light suppression, highest-quality and modern coating technology, as well as shock-resistant housing and unrivalled surface finish. This makes the new Amplus 6 series a reliable tool for everyday all-around hunting situations.”

Anyone get hands on a 3-18 to check tracking/rtz yet? If they’re solid I might try one on a new Kimber backpack gun I’m putting together.

I haven't seen a tracking test yet but curious as well. The 15x and 18x @~24oz look good for a lighter build. That weight is on par with a March compact but at a much lower cost.

Yeah the weight is ok but my LHTs and V4’s weigh less. The compact 12.5” length is more what intrigues me for a backpack rig. I agree it will be interesting to compare to my 2.5-25 March

I just started a thread on this then found this one....not much out there at all on these scopes.

Doug can you give us an update on the availability on the 3-18x44 model?

They were postponed to Spring 2021 due to delays caused by Covid
Ok, thanks. Have you seen the 3-18x44 model in person and know much about it? Does it only come with the exposed elevation turret and does it have a zero stop? I see you posted the weight above on that model at just under 24oz, which helps clarify the weight.

I saw one at SHOT 11 months ago. Quite honestly it's a distant memory at this point. Once they are close to releasing it I am sure I'll have a chance to see it again as SHOT was canceled for next month

Thanks - keep us posted. Looks interesting if its built right to track and hold zero. The weight at ~24oz give me hope that it will be robust enough.

Hey Doug - any update on the Amplus? I got an email from another vendor that alluded to maybe shipping next week?

I was working on getting a 3-18x model for testing and a full review last spring but like Doug mentioned Covid threw a wrench into production. I'll check with @robby denning to see if Leica is still interested in providing an optic for testing. The specs look perfect for the rifle hunting I routinely participate in.

If the thing will dial and hold zero I think it’s going to become incredibly popular. 24 oz, under 12”, good to maybe great Leica glass. I’m ready to try one as soon as they are out.
