Hey all, I am thinking about upgrading to the above binos from my Bushnell Fusions. I see that these also need a tripod adapter which kind of annoys me a bit about the bushnells only in the sense of taking it on and off when needed and the Bushnell adapter is after market and velcro secured. I am asking for opinions/ experience on the Leica tripod mount/ adapter.
Thanks

Just picked up the same binos and went through the same dilemma. Tried the bog-pod plate option but didn't care for it due to weight and bulk. Ordered the outdoorsman's bino-hand and it seems so far to be a solid choice since a stud option isn't available. Plenty study, a little cumbersome to rig up but not bad.

Does the outdoorsman cinch around just 1 of the sides? Thats what it looks like on the site. Leica makes an adapter for around the same price that get good reviews, (non back packer) but definitely looks bulky.

Same here! Bino hand is not a stud but, not too much of a pain. If I had it to do all over, I would have scratched the Leica in wait for the updated EL Range. If it took two years... The stud is just too simple, quick and easy!! Good luck!

I am using one of these. Not ideal, but way better than leicas solution. Plus it is American made and alot cheaper to boot. I really like the design and it is well made.

I figure if I can’t pony up a few more $$ for a good quality item made in the USA after the initial investment, I probably shouldn’t of spent the money as the bino adapters are cheap when you consider the overall money spent on the optic, even if used or 50% off. Outdoorsmans is made in AZ.

I’ve had both their stud and bino hand, personally I like the stud better but the hand is by far the better overall adapter for price and ability to retain when you sell the binos. The bino hand is super sturdy and secure.

These aren't made of plastic. They are aluminum with a foam pad and the strap is really strong nylon. I wouldn't recommend it if it was plastic and i agree with that statement wholeheartedly. I purchased one and was skeptical but it is well made and they could ask more for them for the quality. I am using one with my Leicas and i haven't had any reason to pay more for something else. I could send some pics if you need a better look at it.

Their website doesn’t do it justice, your pics really show what I wasn’t seeing, if I didn’t have the bino hand I may of given that a shot. I like the one barrel strap for making fine adjustments but I’m sure I could get used to something like that.

Thanks for the clarification and pics, seems like a great deal at $20.

You are welcome. :) Yeah they need to get some better pics up. I was a little leery of them at first but figured at $20 bucks it was worth a try. I didn't know about the bino hand or i would have bought that most likely. All i knew about was the leica saddle at the time and i really did not like that it was plastic and so bulky.
