In short, how is aftermarket support for left handed Tikkas? Looking to double check my impression.

Bottom metal, mags, barrels, and some bolt handles should all be the same.

Looks like aftermarket triggers are limited. Possibly the same for stocks.

I really don't like the feel of Savages I have handled. No experience with Ruger Americans. Sako 90 is nice, but very limited aftermarket (takes Tikka barrels, stock is the only thing I might want to change). The RAVEN might be available in the next year.

The unneeded reasons for my question (advice welcome).

My youngest daughter is left eye dominant. I don't need anything now as see is only 5 (left handed Savage Rascal was cheap), but it has me looking.

Tikka makes the most sense, in part due to cost. But, the over kill, and much less flexible option when it comes to cartridge selection for future change outs would be a Sake 90.

OK, just typing that makes me think the Sako is a bad idea at present and best saved for 10 years down the road if she likes hunting.

The answer is probably a lefty Tikka 223?

The lefty 223 is the answer, I got my daughter a lefty 243 and modified a factory compact stock to lefty since there are no factory lefty compacts. The other thing to watch for on them is bolt clearance on scope power rings since some scopes have a fixed knob on the ring.

I'd definitely do a lefty tikka 223. I have felt no need to change triggers on them after putting a better trigger spring in them although I do believe trigger tech will be coming out with some lefty tikka triggers. I think aftermarket support is pretty strong for Tikkas. Aftermarket stock support is pretty good for us lefties. The only action with more aftermarket support for lefties are of course 700's but I've been very happy with my Tikkas. That Tikka could always have a good gunsmith turn it into an arc cartridge gun for 22 or 6 arc.

None of the after market stuff matters in the Tikka space until you start looking into aftermarket chassis' and hunting stocks. There are still plenty of options there to accommodate most people's needs.

I am a lefty and use only Tikka.

Unknown Munitions has an active lefty 223 Tikka order on their website. They said they placed the order once they had 50 deposits. There currently about 70 orders based on the product count on the webpage. Supposedly will come in this year but you'd have to confirm directly with them.

I'm debating on putting down a deposit on one of the UM 223s. I would just give it a few years, but recognize that if I do I might get stuck converting a standard bolt Tikka to 223.
