Leavenworth Washington

I live in Ellensburg, not far from from Leavenworth and have coworkers who live there. Not sure if I can help with your question or not but feel free to PM me. If I can help I will.

For anybody that lives close or might know…
My young teenage son wants to hike the Enchantments on Monday, and I was just trying to get a snow report. Having a hard time finding any up to date intel with the government employees out of commission. So I was just trying to see if anybody local could tell me if there is snow up there making Asgard Pass impassable or at least treacherous.

I went through a few weeks ago with no problems. Just checked with a group that went through yesterday and they said the snow line was about 68000' with a new dusting over the pass. You won't have any issue with snow, but as you said that is a long day. Can't recommend trekking poles enough to save your legs on the downhill after the pass. You won't need micro spikes right now.

Pre-kids, my wife and I did a through-hike of the enchantments. Had a buddy move our car. It was absolutely incredible! We did it earlier in the year with longer days, but we still started a little before sunrise. My advice is START EARLY!

Just finished this hike. Thanks for all the input. Long day as we started hiking at 545 and finished at 445. About 22 miles, lots of snacks and a total of 9 mountain goats, but only 1 of those was a billy.
