Leatherman/Havalon

It would be nice to see a blade option on a Leatherman.

G'day Brandon,

I have modified my Havalon to fit my Skeletool.

I stripped it down to get the mounting knuckle for the blade.

You need to get it to the same dimensions as the Leatherman screwdriver bits. I did this with hand files. There is a retaining notch in the Leatherman bits that needs to be replicated to ensure the Havalon blade stays secure in the Leatherman.

I was happy with the result.

Packed up it sticks out a little bit, but it is no bother.

Now, I have to come clean and admit to losing the the new Havalon 'Skeletool 'bit' after using it once. I'm hoping it turns up somewhere! Next time around I'll just grab a cheap scalpel and modify that to fit my Leatherman.

Does the blade lock on the Leatherman tool ?

Great mod. I also carry both of those, may have to combine them. I am also curious about if the havalon blade will lock in the open position...

It does as long as you correctly notch your new 'bit' so it is engaged by the spring loaded claw. The notch required is visible on the 3rd picture down. If you don't have this it will slip out with minimal disturbance.

I found the most natural arrangement for use was with the Skeletool arms opened up.
