Can anyone tell me if it is worth it to go through the custom boot process with Lathrop and sons. Or go with the Crispi Hunter boot? Thanks
I love my L&S boots, and they sure took care of me last year with some beat up footbeds. Hopefully I can get a reply or phone call back soon.darn, here i was thinking of trying their boots out next.
Nothing special. They supposedly will not only do custom insoles but mold the boot to your foot if needed. Some on here say they don’t do that and just have a standard boot that they do a custom insole for. I can only say that the pain I had in my big toe was due to an upturn of that toe. It would always rub on the top of the toe box. It doesn’t do that w their boots. Maybe they molded the boot to my foot or the toe box is just big enough to not bother me now. It's the customer service that has me hesitant right now on trying them out in the future, could be just a few localiZed cases as one rarely sees the positive reviews.
Any specific things to order with the lathrops or recommendations? Or is there anything special?
I'm currently rocking kenetreks, which I use pretty much every day for hiking/walking the dog, they are well broken in and comfy. Only issue I have with them is the soles are soft and wear quickly compared to any other boot I've used. About a year old and I'll get maybe this year out of them. Granted they have about 10-15kms a day on them for a year so that's a lot of mileage, lots of mud, rain, snow, so they have held up.
