Late season cow elk hunt

I am looking at opportunities for a cow elk hunt in Oregon or Utah and was curious which outfitters are recommended. I live in California and thought it would be fun to go on a cow hunt with my sons this winter.

This late in Dec, you may need to look for next season unfortunately. Any available Utah hunts at this point will be with a landowner tag (usually around 1500-2500 per tag). The KSL classifieds is where you'll see a lot of those posted, but a quick search only yielded an elk farm selling hunts in Firth, ID.

Deseret Land and Livestock may be worth a call (I believe they offer private tags, but they may be sold out for the season).

I know, this was a last minute idea that came up so I figured I would give it a shot. I talked to a few outfitters and they are full for the season already. Thanks for the recommendation.

I just hunted with Double A outfitters in moorcroft, Wyoming. He said he had some cow hunts yet this year, so must be left over tags. If you want to go that far.

Ive been looking over there. The outfitters that I have contacted based on positive reviews are booked up. I may be too late this year.

If you're open to flying (or driving) to CO, I'd join the "I Hunt Colorado" facebook group and make a post on there. There are quite a few people on there selling landowner tags and trespass fees that could give you some more options.
