Been re-reading a tote full of old books I had in storage....right now it's James Michener's Hawaii, before that it was Callaghen by Louis L'Amour, and Treasure Island, which I haven't picked up since about age 11...great book still! Some real life lessons in that one, I would encourage every boy to read it....

I took a break from non fiction for a bit, I was heavy in those for a year. I’m about halfway through Brad Thor’s series. Like any Hollywood thriller, fun to read, hero’s bullet proof.

Thinking I might have to reread Craig Child's "House of Rain" as I've explored mesa Verde and canyons of the ancients the last couple of days.

Awesome book

The Light in High Places
Touching the Wild

Both by Joe Hutto. They are incredible books and he seems like an incredible guy.

Uttermost Part of the Earth: The First History of Tierra Del Fuego and the Fuegian Indians (amazing personal account, puts you there, highly recommended)

Patagonia: Natural History, Prehistory, and Ethnography at the Uttermost End of the Earth (some good, some filler, writing not great)

Endurance; Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage (you can read this without putting it down)

The Phenomenon - book written by Rick Ankiel talking about his meltdown and return to baseball

Dreams of El Dorado - quickly covers the history of the west

My brother in law has been writing and publishing some short horror stories, so I read that one as well.

Currently reading Ridgeline by Michael Punke and enjoying it so far.

We Few - absolutely fantastic book about MAC SOG in Vietnam.

Casino Royal - good quick read. Was a good change from what I had finished before...

The Fountainhead - great book, took forever. Atlas shrugged is next on the menu.

Fun to see this thread revived. Here's my latest three.

"The Making of a Miracle" by Michael Eruzione. Life story of the captain of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team that upset Russia. Great read, even if you aren't really a hockey fan.

"The Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown. Another Olympic story, this one about the 1936 8 man rowing team. I also enjoyed this one quite a bit.

"Running with Sherman" by Christopher McDougall. This was a different book. I enjoyed it but it's not for everyone. Not as good as "Born to Run", but a quirky fun read for me.

1) Lincoln Highway
2) The Last Stand of Fox Company
3) Nuclear War

1 and 2 are definitely worth a read, highly recommend! 3 was interesting...
