I had the original Lapponia boots from Crispi and they are hands down my favorite boot ever made (for comfort, not durability). Well, the sides blew out last season so I bought the Lapponia 3, they are a completely different boot and I do not like them. Has anyone owned the original Lapponia and the Lapponia Lite? Are they closer in comparison? Anything else similar to the original Lapponia?

I doubt you’ll find much of a difference in feel of fit. Seems like main difference is height of boot and the outsole. I’m currently trying on and deciding if I want to keep some Lites.

I didn’t own the original and only bought the lite because of all the great reviews on the original I had read. Fast forward and they are finally broke in and comfortable after a couple years. They didn’t have the instant comfort that the other crispi boots I’ve used in the past had and took a lot of miles to break in. I was too stubborn to try to swap them out and just kept hiking in them until they worked. I’ve had Nevadas, summits and the crossovers in comparison and all were comfortable right out of the box. Might be worth trying on first before fully committing to make sure they’ll work for you.

Not that it would help with that amount of break in, but I use shoe covers when testing new boots and walk 5-10 miles on the treadmill plus where them around the house to ensure fit.
