I’m looking for a float fishing guide out of Lander. We are basing out of there for a backpacking trip and really need to stick with the Lander area. I’m guessing the only likely float fishing opportunity is the Bighorn. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience? Thanks in advance.

Jeramie Prine @ Dunoir Fishing Adventures is your dude.

Bighorn is the closest float. Upper Green is a good option as well but much further away (opposite side of Winds)

Floating seems to be a little tough in that area if you’re wanting to stay close. If you don’t mind a hike shoot me a PM and I’ll help you with some small stream fishing. Fish aren’t huge but you’ll get a strike on every good drift.

You ever floated the bighorn? If so, how does it compare to the Green? I’ve done the north fork out of Cody, the green out of Pinedale and the snake out of Jackson

Bighorn can be pretty cool from Wedding down. My experience has always been a lot of deep nymphing rigs in the middle of the river. Can be a little monotonous.

That canyon section looks like an awesome float if you can find someone to book.

Wedding to Thermop is good. Standard western floating IMO, mellow water.

The canyon is indian country, different license, only one outfitter.

It's a drive, but the Green below Fontanelle reservoir should be on your list.

Ryan Hudson at Wyoming Fishing Co is the guy for that stretch.
