My home mattress thread from 10 months ago is still going strong, now chairs.

@KickinNDishin and I are looking at recliners. With demon spawn, the griff Juniper, myself, and her, we need more lounging devices from our super backcountry pursuits. We have sadly fallen for a La-Z-Boy that coats what my truck is worth....

So, is the La-Z-Boy recliner worth it for those that own one?

That depends. After my wife and I were married we went shopping. We sat in several recliners at the La-Z-Boy store and they were like most any other recliner........until we sat in "the one". It was an immediate reaction for both of us.......it was incredible. Leather and plush comfort. That was over 25 years ago and we still have them today. We just got back from AZ this week and as soon as I sat down in mine......it was like "Daddy's home". My goodness it's comfortable. But even though it's a recliner, I rarely ever use it as such. I'm not much of a reclining kind of guy. I'm barely a sitting kind of guy.

But my point is.....you'll know when you've found "the one"........or "the pair". And yes.......a big sale or discount does help. I wouldn't need a USB or anything else for mine.......just comfort for when I am sitting.

Yeah they are nice. I’ve never gotten a new one though. I’ve been lucky and got my first 1 for $100. It’s “MY CHAIR” ….I’ve had it for like 7 years and still great. It almost lays down and swivels too which is nice. Ended up getting another one for the wife for $100 too. But it doesn’t swivel

I have just slept in mine for 7 weeks straight due to rotator cuff surgery, we got it the day of the surgery and I have slept great. Overall really good quality and comfortable.

We bought two dark brown leather with the baseball stitch recliner couches in 2010. They are very well built and have been in three homes. Build quality is great and they're super comfortable. When bought we had four at home so in the event we were all around the wretched stone (TV) we could all recline if desired. Good money spent although not cheap we have zero regrets. I can't speak of build quality recently though, hopefully it's still good.

@Traveler why the "no" vote? Talk some sense into me.
Really just based on your reference to cost and value of a truck. Though I don’t know what your truck is worth…I used to have a 76 short bed three on the tree that I loved that wouldn’t be worth much these days 🙂

But if I’m in the ball park on costs there are just other things I’d spend that money on. Truth in advertising though I haven’t owned one myself, furniture isn’t a category I spend on (have only bought used since 2007). My in laws have a lazy boy that seems nice enough though. Personal preference mostly I guess…I have started looking at new generators.

Yeah. I was in the military and was in military housing back in the day and people were constantly moving in and out. The guy was PCSing across the country and was trying to get rid of a lot of stuff fast. So that’s how I got my first one. The leather is very thick and they are great recliners. I got lucky. Second one again was luck. I’m in Montana someone posted one because they were moving and offered it for $100 and we were the first to respond that could pick it up same day. If I recall he had at least 15 people that wanted it but couldn’t pick it up the same day or wanted it delivered.

Yes. It's worth it. The recliner is my chair and those who usurp it suffer my wrath. Get that la-z-boy. You deserve it.

My wife & I bought about seven pieces there, got the La-Z-Boy credit card for the discount. Paid it off in a month but the high balance helped boost the FICO some cuz we didn't use it again for years. Over time they reduced our limit (other comparable Synchrony card don't do this) so that additional benefit kinda shrunk. The furniture is okay, not great, not crap. If ya see something comfy that works for ya, grab it but buy on a holiday, Best deals are now when the weather is crappy and people are paying off Christmas.
