My CC got hit for $800 so it looks like I’ll be heading to La Sal La Sal for the late rifle hunt. If anyone has any insight it would be appreciated. Although it will not help for the late season I will be doing some late summer camping trips just to learn the roads and area.

That's a hunt you ought to have scouted years in advance for, during the season.
It will be somewhat weather dependant. Lots of bulls will be on private down low. Some could still be fairly high if they want to, but I feel like the elk on that unit have a pretty strong affinity for the low country even if there hasn't been much snow.

Ill be spike hunting there earlier in the season and I have no problem PMing you if I see any studs. Of course what I see could very well be in an entirely different area by the time you are hunting them.

I saw 40-50 bulls. It was great fun. I didn’t fill my tag, but was a super fun hunt. No shortage of elk. Passes a 320 class bull opening morning. Saw one bigger, ran out of light my last day. I hunted the south side by la sal.
