La Sal High Country

Does anybody have any experience hunting the la sals during archery? I was set on some units in SW Utah but won’t have the points for another year, so I’m turning to possibly la sal or San Juan Abajo and thinking of focusing way up high at/above tree line in some of the more grassy basins. Just curious if anyone has any experience hunting the unit like this or any experience with the quality of deer if you put in some work and scouting. Any info is appreciated, feel free to pm if you’d like to keep things more private. Thanks!

I've got a question for you. I drew a spot and stalk bear and a muzzy buck tag. Am I going to feel like an idiot if I don't bring my atv?

How heavy is the atv use by hunters? I'd rather hunt on foot but I don't want to regret not bringing one.

We use sxs to go to where we are going to hunt. Road hunters are everywhere and riding their utv‘s all over. Make sure you get a ohv stamp in Utah or yours is current from where you live? Get out and hike away from the roads and you’ll be okay.

Yes, but it’s nice to have one especially if you find some new country to hunt - scout you can cover more country one then a truck.
