Kutana modification idea

I am not sure if anyone else has considered this, but I am thinking of putting zippers on the lower part of the legs of my Kutana's so I can remove them in the field without taking off my boots. I found good YKK 14" zippers to use, but my only concern is since the pants are cut rather slim in the legs, I am not sure that I would be able to stretch the pants over the boots even with a 14" zipper. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I am also considering installing zippers on my long underwear so I can remove them quickly when conditions change without taking off my boots.

its doable. I don't know the correct terminology but you can add edge banding along the cut. If you put a longer edge banding in there you'll have extra material to adjust the amount of working area if that makes sense

Copy that. Good idea. I also thought about just making the zipper longer because the pants get a little bigger above the knee.

I don’t see how those pants would or the bottom of the leg rather would ever go over boots way to small imo might need a longer zipper lol luv mine but zippers would be cool on them
