So I got to test my new yukon jacket yesterday and wondering if my expectations are to high?
Pretty well a constant rain, heavy at times for approx 3 hours.
Jacket seemed to "wet out" quickly as if the dwr is almost not there in the constant rain. Wallet ended up getting soaked in the front pocket. Forearms were wet as well. Fabric was wet completely through in the forearms and front pocket (abdominal) areas.
I thought maybe it was just because I was seated for these 3hours and the forearms got wet from water running in at the cuffs so I just re tested wearing it in the shower (kept arms down). I placed kleenex in all pockets and stood in the shower for 10 mins. Got the same results. Forearms were wet and the kleenex in the abdominal pockets was wet.
Anyone else have experience with this rain gear? I was under the impression that this material wouldn't "wet out" as others do but maybe I'm expecting to much. Had I worn my old MT050 goretex gear I'm certain I would have been waterlogged so its an improvement at least. I should mention I was wearing the older model chugach pants and they did really well!
