I didn't have the same experience when I warrantied my icon pro 1850, they told me to email them pictures, I did so and they shipped the replacement parts the next day. Did you go through customer service or their email warranty service? They wouldn't even answer questions on the phone just told me to email the warranty department

Sorry to hear about you problems with Kuiu. The other day I had the Velcro come off of the shoulder straps on my ICON Pro 5200 and I emailed Kuiu to see what kind of glue they recommend I use to glue them back on. I received an email back that told me they were sending me new shoulder straps and were sorry that the glue failed. They didn't ask any questions and I didn't ask them for new shoulder straps. I have had this pack for a few years and have packed out a lot of animals with it and have a lot of hard miles on it. I could not be happier with the customer service I received from them. I have no idea why a company would process claims / warranty work differently but apparently they do??

Again sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Deleted. Doesn't sit well with me publicly speaking negatively about someone. Sorry I started thread.

No offense, but this doesn't help anyone, companies should get praise when they deserve it and called to the carpet when their product or services are lacking.

So I called back again and spoke to a gentleman in the warranty department. He mentioned this is the first of the new frames that they've had break. They sent me out a new frame ( I hope) and should be here by Friday I'm hoping. I will send the new one back today. He was definitely great to deal with, although I don't feel that I should have been the one calling over and over to speak to someone about getting a new frame sent out. I do think that they should have called me since they had the pictures and all the warranty information and tried to make it right from the start. I'm afraid if I would not have called back for the third or fourth time, I may not have heard from anyone for sometime. Other than that he was a pretty nice guy to deal with, apologized for any previous calls I had to make and said he was getting a frame out ASAP to me. Seems like he's really trying to make it right for me.

How did it break?
I got rid of my old icon pack because I constantly was afraid of breaking the frame. Never had any issues but was worried about setting it down on a rock to hard or carrying a canoe with the pack on. Problem solved with the exo pack.
I really like their clothing though and had to use the warranty once, spoke with Todd and it was resolved immediately.

I'm shocked that this thread isn't already locked. Strong opionions on both sides of Kuiu.

My guess, people finally stopped caring about kuiu threads, doubt it gets locked.

It honestly busted by pulling the stay down and the pack up to separate the frame from the pack. Without question was a manufacturing defect. I put little to no force on the stay. You know I could understand and would without question say if it broke due to immense stress or strain but it was just taken out of the plastic that day and did not break by hauling anything out. I by no means would say this is an issue or that it can't handle weight, it was clearly a defect from the get go. Things happen

Conversations about Kuiu products tend to be very passionate. Guys tend to be very convicted in their beliefs toward that particular company and the arguing escalates quickly.

That's an eloquent way to put it.
