The biggest difference that I noticed was the way the Exo snugged the load up against my back and minimized it from moving it around. The way the frame is designed keeps the load from moving around causing balance issues. Just a more well thought out design. The difference of just being able to do something and doing something better and more easily.I have had a Kuiu Icon Pro since they came out and I 'think' I have been very happy with it. I have hauled out 3 whole deer bone in and hauled out elk quarters, which sucked, but my pack seemed to work fine.
Can you guys that prefer the Exo over the Kuiu provide details / specifics on why? I am really interested in this because I read this all over this site, so I am not doubting, just wanting to get some info.
Thanks
Kuiu makes good clothes but I would suggest that you don't get the Kuiu pack.
I thought the new Pro was great this year...
Very nice bull ChrisAU. I thought the Kuiu was a good pack when I had one too. But, that was after I used the Dwight Schuh/Cabela's pack for a few years. And it was before I tried other packs. After the Kuiu I tried a couple of others and it became obvious that the Kuiu pack was just part of the learning curve for me. Comparing Kuiu packs to Exo/Stone Glacier/Kifaru is like comparing Bushnell binos to Swaros. They're good enough until you use others.
I don't think that's true, I think different packs fit different people. I packed a bull out last year with a Kifaru, and used the Kuiu Pro this year. I do want to try to an Exo some time though. I wish I could have them all and hunt enough to effectively compare them all apples to apples with heavy loads. Maybe one day ha.
