We will have a very extensive review between both brands after our Elk hunts this sept.

But my initial opinion is FL base layers are better construction and comfort where as Kuiu has maybe a slight advantage in outerwear due to the fit and the slight improvement in materials that are a little quieter but I have begin to notice the FL breathes a little better.

So far it's looking like this

First Lite

Breathability 9
Fit/Sizing 8
Quietness 8
Variety/Selection 8
Customer Service 10
Durability 9
Camo Effectiveness 9

Kuiu

Breathability 7
Fit/Sizing 9
Quietness 9
Variety/Selection 10
Customer Service 8
Durability 9
Camo Effectiveness 8

Both are incredible companies, one key note that really sold me on First lite is you may spend a little extra compared to most of Kuiu's line, but your helping a company like first lite that has set the bar for contributions to conservation. So it makes me proud to know my guide pants or puffy may be a little more than a Kuiu but a portion of those sales are helping average joes like me and you continue getting to hunt these great public lands, GMU's and possibly afford some decent guide services.

Throwing the camo pattern aside I would love to hear both your reviews on the two different clothing companies. I wear both FL and Kuiu, FL imo has better base layers and kuiu has better outerlayers, the attack pant especially. What is your take?

I agree with you that the FL base layers are more comfortable, less itchy (which isn't really too bad with kuiu, but it is a bit more). My experience has been that the FL also smells less than the original kuiu merino wool. I haven't used their newest latest and greatest wool, so I cannot comment on it.
