I recently picked up a Venture Divide 3000 for a smoking deal on their labor day sale. Primary use will be for saddle hunting.

Im a little disappointed in just how loud it is. Its borderline at 50-70 degrees, its gonna be LOUD at 20-30. Its not the end of the world, but not ideal either. I usually dont fiddle and fart around in my pack once im settled in.

Is the Encounter Divide 2800 substantially quieter?

Itll be about $100 extra to swap them out at this point not being on sale anymore.

I don't have either, but reading the Kuiu website...the Encounter Divide is "Brushed encounter woven 840D ballistic nylon" compared to the cordura on the Venture divide. FWIW the brushed encounter woven materal is the same material on the newly release 1800 evolution whitetail daypack--which Kuiu says of the materal... "The soft-brushed Encounter material is ultra-quiet to avoid spooking deer on still mornings and rugged enough for tough outdoor conditions. " Whatever that means....

Based on that description of the fabric, I would assume it's going to quieter than the Venture material, because cordura is rigid and not soft at all. Is that going to be quiet enough for you? Not sure. It could end up being quieter, but still too loud for your needs.
