Looking for pros and cons from ppl who have this pack. I’ve been looking at it for public land saddle hunting.

I have a 2300 that I use primarily as a whitetail stand pack and really like it.

1800 gets pretty tight if you're trying to fit warm outer layers inside with your snacks, hats, gloves, etc. If you're fine with strapping warm layers to the outside it'll be fine.

Have you seen the Encounter Divide 2800 that has the removable pockets? That's designed specifically for stand hunting and it shows. It's a newer model. If my 2300 ever blows out I'll upgrade.

I wanted to grab a 2300 while they were on sale but I missed them. The 1800 is 99$ right now. I live in Alabama so usually don’t carry a ton of layers. Just needing something to carry my sticks and small platform.

I understand that you are looking at the sale, but Kuiu has a new pack out dedicated to the mobile whitetail hunter.
Aside from that I have the 2300 also and it also is my stand pack.
I can carry my parka and bibs, shooting sticks and seat very easily in it.
I have had it 3-4 years now and do not baby it, and it is as good today as it was when I bought it.

I don’t like the straps on outside of pack on the 1800 compared to the 2300. It’s all one strap on the 1800 while the side and front straps are separate on the 2300.

I have the 2300. It’s a cool little pack with the dumbest waist belt ever made unless you are 32” or smaller waisted guy. The belt is plenty long with just enough hip belt padding length for your 17 year old daughter. It makes no sense for a hip belt to have the webbing for a 52” waist but the padding on the belt being so short. Just a pisspoor design on what could be the best day pack on the market.

The pack is plenty ridged for loads into the 30-40 pound range. But, lacks a proper hipbelt for most men to carry the weight any where except their shoulders.

If they’d offer the pack with hip belt sizing used on their standard frame packs, this would be the perfect daypack for anyone needing to carry a load of climbing gear or optic gear.

I took the belt off mine and use it as a backpack. It does fine at that too. But, I also noticed shoulder fatigue on longer hikes that way.

I've had the 1800 for quite a while and really like it. No complaints on straps, carrying capacity or the belt.

I'm a 34" waist and the belt works fine but your point is valid. Kuiu does not cater to large folks.

I’ll take your word for how good it works for you. But, that’s not my experience. My buddy has a 34” waist. I have a 38” waist. He tried the pack on this week past loaded out for a day of saddle hunting. His thought mimicked mine.

We both own/have owned Kuiu framed systems. This venture line of packs could be the bench mark of daypacks if fitted to do so with belt sizing versus a one for all.

Their website states it’ll fit upto a 52” waist. I don’t doubt that from the length of the webbing.

I have the Venture 2300 and love the pack. I have the size large and with a 35” waist it works great for me.

I had the 1800 and now have the 2300. Using it mainly for white tail hunting and travel pack. Saddle, stand, blind, etc. I would bump up to the 2300 size. More volume for when you need it but next to no size or weight penalty.
