I'm looking at picking one of these up. Anyone have experience with them yet? My current hiking pack is just a backpack. No support at all, all the weight stays on your back. Seeing if this one would put weight on the hips and take it off my shoulders. Thanks in advance!

It would certainly be better than a regular backpack. The Venture has a frame sheet and aluminum stays for support. I wouldn’t plan on putting 60 pounds in it and running around, but for what you are describing it would be fine.

I wasn’t aware of a Venture 2200 coming.

There was mention of the Venture 2200 during one of the last videos on Kuiu's YouTube channel.

It should be fine for day hunting gear, I have a couple different packs that are similar.

The other thing you might consider is the Icon Pro 1850 comes with some aluminum stays that can be used in place of the frame, giving you the option to add a frame in the future.

Thanks for the replies so far. I may just bite the bullet and grab one. The rep I spoke with at Kuiu said he personally uses it and loads about 40 pounds into it for training. Take that for what it's worth however, coming directly from the manufacture. I'm kind of waiting to see if they come out with a video for it.

Has anyone tried the Venture 1800 with a bit of a load. I’m considering one as a day hunt pack. Whatever pack I choose I’d like it to be able to handle a first load out. Not talking 80lb+ load, but the head/rack and perhaps some meat. I have a Kifaru Reckoning do the heavy work.

I have one at home I just received and will check out the dimensions. It feels well built but will be a bit on the noisy side. Size and pocket placement seem perfect for a daypack to me.

Thanks Lukedog, that would be great, trying to see if this bag can double as a airline carry-on bag for work trips

Used this bag this past weekend on a small hunt here in the Northeast (packed about 6 miles in total). Best backpack I have used to date (I have not used SG or Kirafu). Great support; almost too much for a daypack, took all the weight off my shoulder and placed it on my hips. I removed the belt (which is difficult due to the velco and thickness of the belt) and you could easily use this as an airline carry-on. The only drawback so far for me in regards to an every day carry pack is the lack of internal storage/pockets for the small things that one would normally carry daily - I'm talking pens, charging cords, key, etc. Hunting is where this pack excels however you could easily pack a smaller-width laptop in the sleeve for sure. Main pocket would fit a large-size laptop.
No buyers remorse for me on this pack. I will be putting this pack to the test later in the month on much longer hunts. I will try to report back my findings.

Any other questions let me know.

Luke

+1 on the Icon Pro 1850.With the frame it is a pretty good meat hauler. With just the aluminum stiffeners it is a excellent day pack.
