KUIU Super Down LT

That's all of Kuiu gear. They're stingy with their down. Their pro pants only have 3.2 oz of down and while the Pro Jacket has 5 oz it feels like they could have bumped that up a bit more also. Great gear though. Really light.

I sent my ultra back years ago when I saw how little fill it had. Bought a $27 Eddie Bauer hooded down jacket from Costco that was equal or better quality. Have a Sitka WS hoody down that has since been discontinued for late season MT hunts

Totally agree with everything stated above. Had the original super down ultra and sold it. it was marketed like it was some magic potion for warmth, but the fact is the amount of down fill is more important than even the rating of the down fill. Lots of 650 is still warmer than a medium amount of 850.

I thought my Patagonia Nano Puff was warmer than the kuiu down jacket.

A warm down jacket starts at 5 oz. of high quality down and goes up from there.

If one of the hunting companies could make a 20 oz or lighter jacket with 7-8 ounces of 800 or better down for under $400, I think they'd struggle to keep them in stock. Ultralight down jackets that are no warmer than your $30 fleece hoodie don't make much sense to me.

I just bought an ultra on the last sale. Had an original years ago and now reading the description of the lt it sounds like another evolution of the jacket. Agree that there is hype but if you’re looking for the niche piece it is then it’s a good choice when on sale. I blame @Ryan Avery 😉 for my purchase based on his recent rokcast about wet insulation.
