Kuiu sizing

So, I'm thinking about buying a second pair of Attack pants. I currently have a pair of 40" waist pants, and they are a bit large. I had planned to go with 38s this time, but at check out, I noticed that Kuiu website says, "Strongly recommend ordering one size up."

Very strange considering almost every other brand of dress pants, hunting pants, shorts, etc a 40 works for me. Odd that this mfg would say order up, but the 40s are too loose. I'm inclined to order DOWN, but they'd have been order 42s.

Maybe they've stretched out?

What have your experiences been?

Kuiu sizing is VERY athletic, but that said, if you already have a pair of 40's and they are too big, order a size 38, easy to exchange.

Get the 38’s and give them a try. I have 34 and 36 in their pant and shorts no issue with either. The 34 what I first started buying is a little snug but not uncomfortable and the 36 what I buy now is what fits best.

Yeah, which is the logical option. Was just odd to see their recommendation about ordering up.
