Earlier this year i bought a set of the proximity clothing and highly recommend it. It's warm, lightweight and not at all bulky. makes me wish that i had bought better clothing years ago.

when getting into good gear i stayed away from Kuiu for year, mainly due to not being build for big guys. I have bought ALOT of gear from them over the past year. I have a set of Sitka fanatic that will probally go for sale the end of year for KUIUs new down line. I like sitka stuff but alot didnt work for me. Plus i feel i can get kuiu at a deal(theres usually a sale)......

What didn't you like about the fanatic? The only thing I don't like about it is that it's so warm and cozy that it puts me to sleep in my climber. It is quite bulky but I didn't take the proximity to be a replacement for the fanatic. Maybe more like a replacement for the stratus line which is hands down my favorite.

Fanatic is great if its contently under 35 degrees. Its bulky so carrying in on public land sucks and hiking in sucks even if its vented. Its has it place i just dont use it enough to keep almost 1000 of camo around.

Great to hear! Just picked up the Proximity set up during the sale last week and appear to be of high quality. Looking forward to using it in November when the temperatures hopefully cool down.

Mine happened to come in the mail today. I wished I would have bought the solid tops and bottoms. I bought the solid color bottoms and a verde top. I think I am going to keep it, but I am very impressed.

From the photos I thought that the solid color was elk brown.

It in the kitchen light this evening is more of an olive green.

I ordered the Proximity bibs, but have to exchange sizes. I have a KS whitetail hunt coming up they'll be used for. 🤞

I agree, even short walks in on private I keep it in my bag until I'm in the tree. That shit is way too warm. There's nothing better than knowing you can go out and not worry about getting cold. I got some heated socks that really round out the whole system.

The proximity isn't that warm though right?

Id say the proximity with light layers around 32 with limited wind. Add a puffy and heavy layers you could get into the 20s. I sat with my fanatic gear about 5 degrees and light layers and was snug, but i felt like the kid in a Christmas story…. My proximity is last years version without the wind-blocker or whatever they added last year

Thats Ash. Its very deceiving until in hand. Pics give it all sorts of hues.

Waiting for these to hit one of the sales once the "new and shiny" has worn off. I think it would be nice for late season archery here when still hunting blinds.

I am happy.

I don't see a ton of uses for the proximity outfit, as I don't like driven hunts enough to do that. I might use it in Finland next year for grouse and whitetails.
