Go with American made....Marsupial :)
The design is crap.
You have the standard which doesn't protect the binos enough.
Then you have the enclosed which the lid doesn't stay open enough I've already lost $20 deciding i didn't like that, and sending it back.
And that if they even have it in stock.

Did you have the enclosed no-mag version and the lid didn’t stay open enough? Because that’s the one I’ve been considering.

I’m actually really surprised to hear that. After going through Bino harnesses like my own underwear, I finally landed on a Marsupial enclosed harness and find it far superior to the KUIU Pro and KUIU basic. Different strokes for different folks, for sure.

Share what makes you think its better?
I'm still using the regular open side marsupial for my 10x42s but the eye cups are always full of dust and needles.

Got an enclosed to replace it and the lid would barely stay open, and that was with nothing in the pocket.
You had to look down and very Intentionally make sure it stay down. Then if you barely bumped it would come up. Which also told me the pocket on the front was worthless because that would make it worse.
That was last summer, friend just got a new one a week ago and nothing had changed.

I'm not saying it wasn't usable without the lid maging down but you pay $130 plus shipping for something it should work as designed.
Then I had to eat the return shipping.

The kuiu i guess doesn't mag open ether but its not designed to, the way the hood is designed it is fully enclosed but yet part of the side coverage is in the hood making it easier to get the binos in and out.
I got no problem paying the extra for USA made but imo the magnet enclosed isnt all its advertised to be.

The no mag is an interesting looking option.

Yeah, I'm considering the no-mag version because to me it is a similar design to the Kuiu harness that has obviously worked well for so many. My only hesitancy is exactly what you mention in that the Marsupial hood doesn't incorporate any of the side wall, and therefore I wonder if I'll be reaching in from the top too much, vs being able to somewhat grab the binos from the side.

I don't know. I've been trying to be better about buying American made lately, so I'm willing to give it a try since there have been plenty of positive feedback on the harness. Guess time will tell.

Wish I still had the KUIU Pro harness to photograph what I’m talking about, but I had a few issues with mine:
- my wrist strap release would occasionally get hung up in the buckles above the harness during my draw cycle. That’s a major no-go for me.
- The KUIU pro pack was a lot larger than I needed, I much preferred the original size, and that of the marsupial.
- The felt lined material would squeak against the rubber on my Swaros. That was a strange finding, but one I could replicate consistently. I had to be really cautious about how I pulled the binos out to remain quiet.

I can’t say I’ve ever had my marsupial lid interfere as you mention, and the lower magnet holds the lid down when I choose to use that as well. That would certainly drive me nuts I had your experience, but that’s not been the case for me.

Also, just confirmed the Large will fit with Swaro 10x42 EL Range. Plenty of room.
Yes, which means it’s WAAAAY too big for the regular 10X42 EL, which fit perfectly in the original KUIU bino harness. Hope their size L jackets don’t get substantially larger overnight, without any notice.

I felt the same way. I haven’t tried the pro but had the basic for a few seasons and hated how the straps to the harness were attached to the binos on the KUIU’s but looks like they fixed that with the pros.
The marsupial fit my needs better I like the slightly larger size with more storage and accessories.

I’ve gone back and forth in my head so many times between the kuiu pro, marsupial enclosed and marsupial no mag. It seems like you can always find reviews that are complimentary of one, dislike another, problems one person has that no one else seems to. I worry about the magnet on the marsupial and running OnX on my phone, have heard of people having issues with the shock cords on the no mag marsupial, and then there are the issues people mention here with the kuiu. I think I’m closest to trying the kuiu; it’s the cheapest and thus the easiest for me to justify trying initially

I've done the same thing. I wanted to get the Marsupial - it just looks so well made and high quality. The magnetic version is no-go for navigational reasons as you said. But the non-mag version has 2 problems IMO:

1. Bungy runs across the side pocket - will be annoying to get windicator in/out
2. The side-wall prevents you from grabbing your binos from the side (as mentioned above)

Those were deal breakers for me.

I've had the Kuiu Pro and sold it because I hated the lid. Granted I was running small (lightweight) binos, but opening/closing the lid created a lot of up/down movement of the harness.

My FHF is great for my small 10x32's, but I was looking for something else for my 11x45 Mavens. I might try Kuiu again since the binos are heavier, or I might just get another FHF.

The OV, SG and Sitka all have issues that make them non-options for me.

I wish KUIU made the original one with straps that connected to the top straps like the Pro. If it east a pain Id buy an old one and have someone mod it.
