Kuiu peloton 240 vs guide jacket, "windproofness"

I am looking for an outer layer to go over my kenai or down jacket, especially when it is particularly windy. Can anybody comment on the wind resistance of these two pieces compared to each other? I already have a peloton 240 which I really love, but its too small to put over my insulation so I would get the next size up in the hooded version. I also have a chugach already, so the water resistance of the guide does not really matter to me. I am really looking for a wind resistant piece that will keep the warmth from the insulation pieces from getting blown away in the wind. Thanks!

The 240 is near total wind block the Guide is not. Guide is a 90% softshell IMO. I've owned both and use the 240 over down in windy ND. Great warmth to weight ratio.

I like my hooded Peloton 240 very much. It's what I layer around, I wear a black one all fall-spring working on the ranch and have a camo one for hunting. I always considered it wind resistant for what it is, but never wind proof. When I want wind proof I like the Sitka Mountain vest or jacket. If you don't need a hood it sounds like it might be just what you need. I've layered the vest over the 240 and sometimes under or over a puffy under rain gear. The jacket I layer over the puffy and sometimes under rain gear when it's really nasty.

In AK a couple days I had a FL Aerowool long sleeve, Peloton 240, Kifaru LPP, Sitka Mountain Jacket, and FL SEAK rain jacket. No wind gets through all that!

There is no comparison. Guide stops almost no wind. 240 stops pretty much all 10 mph maybe 15 and under and doesn’t let much through above that speed. The Axis might be an option for you too and then you would get the advantage of a soft shell face vs fleece.
