Can you guys give me some info on the Peloton 240? I'm trying to figure out what its similar to and if I should get one.

I have a sawtooth that I wear as a mid layer, but wondering if there is something better for my needs. I love the concept of merino in the back and insulated in the front for when you are wearing a pack, but the rest of the time when I just want some insulation, I'm not sure how I feel about it being nothing more than just an added layer of merino wool on my back, because that gets kinda cold if I'm just sitting in a treestand. The hood is awesome, and I like the full zip and zippered pockets.

I have and have used a Sitka Fanatic Hoody for a season or two. I like the warmth, but I would prefer something in full zip.
I have also owned a sitka heavyweight crew, which was basically the same material as the fanatic hoody.
I like the sitka traverse, but again would prefer a full zip.

Whats the outer material on the peloton like? Like any of the other tops I've used? Do burrs stick to it?
Whats the hood like? Just a regular hood? Block your peripheral while its up?
If stationary, would it be cooler or warmer than the sawtooth?

Im not familiar with the pieces you’ve mentioned but I’m a fan of the peloton 240. Blocks the wind very well the hoods form fitted but not tight , i glass in it a lot with hood on. Haven’t noticed burrs sticking. I like it as an outer mid to late august / early September . I layer a Sitka kelvin lite puffy over it when colder.

the outer material is grid like. Inside is fleece lined, but not a lofty fleece like a core heavy weight. I like it as a outer layer when its not too cold, as mentioned it does a pretty good job at blocking a light wind but its not windproof. And the outer material does get snagged pretty easy, ive had to give mine a haircut every once in awhile because in time little threads pop out.

I don't have a sawtooth but I'm really liking my peloton 240. Fit is perfect for me, 6' 200lb and got an xl. Blocks the wind well and goes under a rain jacket or soft shell when it's cold.

I really like my hooded full zip Peloton 240. I wore it virtually every hunting day during spring bear, a Stone sheep hunt that I helped my buddy on, two Mt Caribou hunts, etc. It is showing a bit of wear around the sleeves from going through a 100 miles of willows caribou hunting but other than that is holding up perfectly. I haven't had any stickers, but BC and NWT aren't sticker central like a lot of good whitetail cover in Nebraska is. I find it the perfect outer layer for a lot of fall hunting where you are active, and a good layer for when the winds are nasty and its cold. It does cut the wind but you still need your puffy and rain gear for glassing off the peaks. The hood is great...I hated hoods until I got the Peloton. I wore a ball cap most of the fall and put the hood up for warmth as needed. No draw strings but is well designed for my pumpkin and I never missed them. You can turn your head and it follows your face, at least with a cap under it.

Just wore my 240 zip hoodie under my Sitka stratus set tonight. 22 degrees with 15+ mph wind and snow. With light base layers I was great. Sat for over 3 hours and the only thing cold was my hands. I'm really liking this hoodie

If you are set on the Peloton 240 I totally understand.

I own the Peloton 240 and I found that it's not as wind resistant as people make it out to be. It's also not as warm as I had hoped. It kinda has a soft shell feel to it as well.

IMO the First Lite Klamath is warmer, a better fit, and most importantly, is MORE wind resistant.

I love the look of the Klamath, but I really want a full zip. I wish more stuff came in a full-zip, but unfortunately that really limits my options.

I tried the Peloton 240 full zip with and without the hood. Ended up selling them both. They aren't "windproof" and for me the hood did not work well, maybe my neck's too long.lol. When I had the hood up it pulled the shoulders up and put too much stretch in the back of the neck. If I had sized up (m to L) it may have helps but would have added unwanted bulk. The hoodless version was awesome but I couldn't find a good spot for this it my kit...Great in theory but I prefer a heavier base layer and something like a Kenai or even a vest.

So it’s advertised as a “fleece”, but looking at the pics it looks very similar to my Chinook jacket.

What I need / want is a super quiet fleece jacket to replace my heavy predator fleece so that I can layer more but still be quiet enough to draw my bow on a spooky whitetail at 20 yards. Will this cut it?

It’s quieter and has a better fit than the chinook. Blocks a lot more wind also. Only thing the chinook offers is some water resistance. I bought both originally and returned the chinook right away. Chinook was very tight through the shoulders. 240 is still my dry weather preferred outer layer and if it’s really cold or windy or wet snow/rain I add a Jetstream over it. All day rain a rain jacket goes over the 240
