can anyone provide any guidance on sizing? I'm a medium in just about everything. looking at a peleton 240. I have a 200 that fits perfect in medium as a base layer/mid.. is the 240 fit to size over a baselayer and a thin middle layer?

Yes, the 240 is a looser garment, you can fit things under it easily.

I had to upsize from the large guide to the xl since it was just too tight in the shoulders and back. Is the Peleton 240 the same cut as the guide? Would be nice to run a lighter "soft shell"

I have both the Peleton 240 and the DCS Guide jacket. To me the Peleton 240 is cut just a tad smaller than the guide jacket. So it sounds like you should go with an XL.

I can easily combine the Peleton 240 with the KUIU Super Down jacket. I even tried all three together successfully and was surprised by the lack of bulk considering how damn hot I was.

(For what it's worth, I ordered the Peleton 240 in large and the fit was perfect. I was torn on the DCS Guide jacket and ordered both the large and XL thinking I would need room for layering, but I was wrong. I kept the large size in the DCS Guide jacket which fit well over the large Peleton 240.)

One more non-scientific observation: I was curious how the wind resistance compared between the DCS Guide jacket and the Peleton 240. So while they were both on hangers in the closet I put my hands in the sleeves of each garment and simply placed my mouth against the material and attempted to blow my hot stinking breath through the material and onto my hand. To my surprise, the Peleton 240 had almost zero penetration of air compared to the DCS Guide jacket. The difference was very noticeable. Just an observation. Haven't had the chance to test this in the field yet.

I also have both the 240 and the DCS Guide and agree that the 240 is just slightly smaller but a little longer in the front. I have large in both. The Peloton 240 is much thinner and lighter than the guide. It's not really an outerwear piece but can be used as one in some conditions. The guide is a much tougher material. I got a couple snags in the 240 the first time I wore it, but we were hunting in fairly thick scrub oak.

I have worn the 240 Peloton over a 200 Peloton nicely. I bought my usual size in each, and did not upsize the 240. If I wanted a looser, jacket-type fit I would order one size up. I liked the wind-resistance of the 240, but also noted that it is far less breathable than the 200 or a Guide Jacket....perhaps similar to a Chinook Jacket.

Thanks. That sort of confirms my little test mentioned a couple of posts above.

I was trying to justify why I would keep the KUIU DCS Guide jacket since I also have the Sitka Jetstream, but breathability of the non-laminated DCS Guide jacket talked my weak-feeble-I-spend-too-much-money-on-gear mind into keeping both.

Does anyone that now has the peleton 240 hoodie possible be able to compare it to a first lite Labrador.. I've been considering selling my Labrador for this piece in the hoodie full zip thinking it might be a bit more warm and versatile

I ran the 240 full zip hoodie on Kodiak for a week and a few mornings and evenings here in NM so not a lot of experience with it but here are my thoughts.
I wanted a thinner hooded insulation layer for cooler temps like 50 degrees and down when the wind was blowing. It works perfectly for that and with rain gear over and a 145 base under it kept me warm in the wet windy Kodiak weather.....until I overworked myself and soaked everything with sweat! Then it took a while to dry out but not any longer than my Yukon rain gear or my thin wool socks.
The only thing I would question is how bad the material will pull in Coues country. Cat claw, ocotillo, and a few other plants down there are hard on clothes. I had some holes in my 145 merino top and a lot of pulls in my attack pants after the first hunt in the Coues desert but haven't had my peloton in that habitat yet to know it's durability.

I have the 240 hoody and traverse hoody. I think it's amazing the 240 has a full length zipper but came in lighter (sz med 13.4 oz). The torso is shorter than the merino base layers, but longer than my kenai puffy. It fits looser than the traverse, which stretches around you. I'm 5'8" so length of torso and sleeves is fine for me, but I could see problems for bigger guys. Sitka traverse hoody is longer in all respects.

I haven't used the 240 enough to speak to drying time, but rumor is without the spandex (the 240 is 100% poly) like in the traverse, the kuiu piece should dry quicker. I've noticed once you sweat up the traverse it takes a while to dry.

I think the traverse hood is more form fitting, but like the 240 hood as well. I was worried the 240 might be too heavy/warm as a mid layer, but it's awesome. Fits under or over my puffy, and great just over my merino, so super flexible layer, not too bulky. Sold my softshell as the 240 effectively replaces it for my uses.

Mt Wyatt,
How much do you weigh and what size did you order? Looking to purchase either this or the Kenai in the coming week. Thanks.

Have the peloton 240 and love it. One piece of clothing that I did not take off during mid season CO hunt. Drys out quick and is light and warm. Also wasn't sure about the thumb holes in sleeve but ended up using them all the time when I didn't quite need gloves but it was cool outside. Very versatile as a mid or outer layer depending on conditions.
