Kuiu Mountain Pro Jacket

My hunting partner has it, I tried it briefly. It feels like a Kenai integrated with a ski shell outer. Honestly for a base camp hunt later in the year when it’s not going to be really warm and heavy rain showers are done for the year it’s a nice jacket. Definitely not a piece for backpacking or extreme cold.

Didn’t find it noisy for a rifle hunt but not ideal for archery.

on their sight they claim it's for cold weather when layered as the third layer. I'm concidering it for a late September moose hunt so as not to worry about packing another layer of dedicated rain gear.. You say definitely not for backpacking or extreme cold, why is that?

I ordered one and returned it immediately. As others have said, too bulky for the limited insulation, arm holes were small rode up into my pits, loud exterior. I own a lot of kuiu gear and love it all.

At $400 this jacket definitely missed the mark.

They're supposed to have a booth at the outdoor show in Columbus in March. I'm hoping they have one there that I can see in person.
