Kuiu Island spring bear

Raft is a Pristine Ventures (Larry Bartlett) pioneer x-stream. Frame is custom by a guy who lives near us, Montana Raft Frames (totally modular, packs great on mules too). Topped it with a suzuki 2.5hp. Pretty happy with the setup, we were able to cover a 14 mile spread and easy to deal with in terms of the tide swings.
Great pics. We talked with you and your wife at the airport in Petersburg. I’d like to get a little more info about your caribou hunt too if you have time one day. Our bear pics are attached
Thanks

Hey! Awesome bears and pics! Congrats! This is “wife” went off about caribou hunt in one of the caribou posts but happy to fill in any questions. I remember you guys were still in the process of picking a transporter. We just took our basic camp gear plus bear fence. I bought Justin some fancy chaps/muck boots from a SE coon dog company that were money. I was fine with well oiled kenetreks and lightweight shitty hip boots. We lucked out on bugs but def bring deet and head nets.

the hard part is a lot of the transporters went under last year from rona shutting down everything up there. Had the tag for this spring and couldn't find a transporter that wasn't outrageous! 5k each instead of 2500 total

It’s true, our original transporter went under. We used Nordic (amphib 185) and Scott Newman (beaver) both excellent pilots and aircraft out of petersburg. Very good pricing to where we flew, 1020$ one way for beaver, 600$ for 185
