I'd like to try out the Kuiu attack pants this year for whitetail hunting, I do a fair bit of hiking to get to the majority of my spots and then hunt of out a stand or saddle. Anyone like these for whitetail and if so, what pattern?

I wear them for early/mid whitetail season. Verde 2.0 works best for the area I hunt in Kansas. I switch to my Guide pants for late season.

I do the exact same thing in northern Indiana. If it gets real cold, I throw my puffy pants on under the guide pants. I used to use Cabela's MT050 pants and parka. Kuiu is not even close to that level of warmth, but MT050 weighed a ton and I sweated my butt off getting to the stand at only about a 500-700 yard trek.

Also, Kuiu has some new parka and pants that would probably fill the stand hunter segment of the market, but I do not have any hands-on experience with that. Plus, buying both pant and parka approaches $1k which is just ridiculous...

Yes, I did the same thing you described last season and the hip vents are great for dumping heat when needed walking in and then when in stand zip up and good to go. Verde is good for tree stands early season but honesty I don’t think camo pattern is really any concern as much as noise and movement, which attacks are plenty quiet if you are quiet.

The Kutana gale force set by Kuiu is designed to be a bombproof set for cold nasty weather. I have no experience with it, and my hunting in southern OK doesn’t really necessitate that kind of gear. If I wear a northern hunter mainly hunting tree stands I would consider it, but hard to justify the cost. It does look like good gear though.

But for early season, attacks will work well

Mst of the pants and base/mid layers work fine but any wind/rain shells or puffy insulation does not make an ideal outer layer. I wouldn't consider it unless you're walking too far to pack in typical whitetail stuff that is warmer and quieter.

I wear my Attack pants just about all season here in Illinois. I just layer under them as it gets colder. I'd never own another pair of pants without hip vents. Or jackets without pit vents. I like Verde but I'm gonna try some warmer like guide pants in vias for coyote hunting this year.

I've worn both Verde and Vias for IL deer hunting. I've done the layering thing with the Attacks and also the Guide jacket/pants and it works to some degree. Kuiu stuff just isn't good for sitting in the cold or for blocking wind. I'll now only wear my Kuiu stuff for early season. Once it gets below 50-60 it goes back into storage.

I hunt public land here in MI the same way; longer hikes with hang and hunts/saddle.

I wear my verde attack pants and when under 50, I'll throw base layers on. If I'm hunting for just 3-4 hours, I'll take the cold creeping in halfway through to avoid packing in heavier fleece pants/sitka fanatic bibs.
