Kuiu discontinuing Peloton 97 Line?

I’ve got several pieces from Kuiu early days, when they didn’t identify the material, like they do now. Just have to pickup, feel the material for weight and composition. Glad they started labeling the items, and people don’t feel they needed to be a member of the ILGWU, to know what they were holding.

I emailed and they said it was discontinued but not gone forever. They said they are working on a new version expected next summer/fall…

Not to hijack my own thread, but I was curious about the StrongFleece. Love my Peloton 240 enough to buy several of them, but was interested in some of the heavier StrongFleece models. What’re your thoughts?

I'm a 240 guy too. It's my favorite mid-layer, so I was never compelled to try any StrongFleeces. I have a 97 hoodie and zip-off bottoms that I only layer over my bases and under my 240 and pants in frigid weather.

That said, I would buy a hardface 97 hoodie in a heartbeat if they made one so I could wear it as an outer layer. I destroyed my first 97 hoodie wearing it on it's own. I swear it snags on a stiff breeze.

I have Peloton and StrongFleece pieces. Peloton is less durable but much lighter and better for active big game hunts. This is what I use during deer/elk season. StrongFleece is more durable, heavier, and better for hunting in heavy brush. If I’m pushing through a decent amount of vegetation, I’m going StrongFleece. StrongFleece is my go-to for waterfowl hunting because where I go, it’s very brushy around the ponds and rivers.

That would be great if true, no one makes anything like them. I have the hoody top and zipped bottoms, but they won't last forever

Hopefully new version doesn't mean new material. I missed the boat on the 97 and would really like to get one if they come back in the same material.

I’m betting the new version is going to be more of an alpha direct or primaloft evolve on the back of an updated more breathable strong fleece fabric.
