I presently use an FHF Gear harness and like it, but my camo is mostly Kuiu and they are a bit lighter weight. Anyone try both and have a preference?

I have both. There's things I like about both of them. I like the extra pockets and pouches on my FHF. The Kuiu is nice that it's water resistant as it is and then with the waterproof cover it came with makes it nice. I also like how the Kuiu has a flap thats folds over to the front instead of the FHF where it's a flap over the top that hangs down. They both hold bino's great though and my FHF matches my Stone Glacier pack in color since Paul at FHF did mine the exact same color as the Stone Glacier pack, right down to the hardware.

Can't really go wrong with either one.

That's really helpful. Thank you. Are the Kuius as rigid as the FHF Gears? I mean, if you take the binos out, does the pouch collapse or does it stay open so that the binos can easily slide back in with one hand? And do the Kuius have as much padding as the FHF Gears?

It may be "loud," but I have taken 9 big game animals while wearing it, without a noise problem at all.

Not a problem with it on if you dont have to use them, but if you actually have to access the binocs, taking them in and out while at close range, forget about it.

How well does the Kuiu hold the binos when your not wearing it? When its bouncing around the truck and stuff? Do the binos stay in them or do they fall out of the back? I like the looks of the Kuiu but one thing I really like about the other harnesses is the protection they offer during transport or when your not necessarily wearing them.

I shot a nice bull this year; I had to draw out my rangefinder from my FHF pouch while he was standing at 40 yards. I'm eating him for Thanksgiving. He never heard a thing.

I have my 10x42's in the Kuiu harness they have never fell out and it's never even been a concern of mine. I got the large size and the binos fit like the harness was made for them. They fit just snug enough that the top flap stays put and I've never had the flap come off from setting it down in the truck and traveling or when it was in a pack or otherwise. There is also elastic draw cords to snug the flap down even more if you want it to be tighter.

The top flap on the Kuiu bino pouch is unpadded Guide Jacket material and the lower 3/4 of it is padded all the way around and on the bottom. It stays rigid since the padding is pretty firm foam and the lining inside the foam portion is a soft brushed type fleece. There is more padding on the Kuiu where it's padded on the lower half than on the FHF. I think it's good they left the top flap un padded to roll it down easy.

If I was concerned at all about noise then I would want the Kuiu. The most noise you'll hear from that harness is when you clip and unclip it to put it on and take it off.

You just convinced me. Calling to order mine tomorrow. Tired of waiting and thinking over all the options. I only bowhunt, so noise is the biggest factor for me.
