KUIU Bino Harness and Rangefinder Pouch Modifications

I purchased a Kuiu bino harness several years ago and immediately saw the problem with removing binos to place on tripod. I contacted Kuiu to get additional hardware to modify my harness. Their response was the hardware wasn't available and generally seemed disinterested. I went with FHF after that and have not looked back

I called them and got the same response....more than willing to sell me another bino harness though.

I just went for it. I cut through at a different spot though. Now I just need to put a lanyard to my bino. Thanks for posting this!

I would recommend saying your clip(s) broke or you took them off your binos and lost them, perhaps your 2-year old grabbed them and ate them?

Well, thanks for the hack. Basically turned my gen 1 into a pro model. Easy enough to go back if I don’t like it for some reason but I can see how I won’t. I just attached what used to go to the binos to the harness. Took about 10 min.

$5 for 2 detachable lanyards from eBay.

All other straps were original.

I’m gonna do this. I really am! Looking at the OP and the most recent post and see that there are two different attachment pints, one on the “lid” and one in the top portion of the “pouch”.

Any input on which has worked better before I hit the whiskey / coke and start cutting ?

Yep, I recently did this to one of my KUIU harnesses. It's worth the little amount of effort required.

I hated the sag of the pouch when I took the binos out. This cures that, and allows me to go from harness to tripod easily.
