Considering purchasing a pair of the Attack pants, are they moderately wind resistant @ least?

I love my First Lite Kanab's, but they don't shed the wind whatsoever.

Thanks!

I would say the chinook pants are more wind resistance then the attacks. Attacks are super breathable which limits the wind resistance.

Chinooks might be kuiu most versatile pant. Not much warmer then the attacks but better wind resistance, more durable, yet still very breathable. I would say under 65 degrees down to teens easily with long johns. Never owned guides but have heard they're pretty warm pant and if your an active hunter I'm guessing better not get warmer then the 40s. Think Kuiu 15% sale is still going. BBSAVE is the code

I don't have the Chinooks for comparison but the Attacks do block the wind somewhat. I wear mine from August through December with the appropriate base layers. They're great pants, no complaints.

The guides are very warm and wind resistant as they have a built in liner. They also shed rain and snow very well. Great pant for late season hunts.

I think the Attacks will do what you are looking for. I have been using them for 3 seasons now from the start of bowhunting in September through November. All I change is my base layer. They will be a huge improvement on the wind from the Kanab but I wouldn't count on not feeling the wind.

Not wanting to spend $200 if possible, how about the Guide pants?
I know how you feel, not sure why chinooks are so much more than the attacks. I could see $10-20 but... I have a chinook jacket and like it pretty much, heard the pants are a little more snug in the thigh. Wore attacks all season too, Sept through December. Warm cold rain etc.

I wear my attacks more than any other pant. Followed closely by the guides. I tried the chinook's this year and nearly froze my ass off even with two pairs of base layers on in the teens. The attacks with one pair and I'd have been fine. They are super versatile. I have the Tetons as well and they're a good value. Not as breathable as the attacks and no hip vents but a quality pant. I sold the chinook's and bought another pair of attacks in a solid color. Wish they offered the guides in a solid color for a winter time work pant. If I could only have one pair of pants they would be the attacks. I'd buy the Tetons before the chinook's and save some money ! The integral knee pads where uncomfortable with gaiters and didn't really work well with gaiters either.

I wear my attacks from 75 with no long johns in sept through the last day of rifle season this year which was -2 degrees with 360gm merino long johns. Have guide pants and chinooks also. I could not notice a difference in warmth with the guides and the knee pads bug me on the chinooks unless in antelope country. Attacks are my choice. Selecting the right weight merino baselayer makes all the difference

The Kuiu discount code is BBSAVE15 and it's good till the 24th.

I also have the Attacks and the Chinooks really like both pants. Attacks are slightly more versatile as there really isn't much extra warmth in the Chinook, maybe a little more wind protection. I find the fleece lining to be very minimal in the Chinook compared to the Guide. i find that my Kanabs are more durable when i'm going through rough think brush than the Attacks, but i would much rather wear my Attacks more often than the Kanab if that makes any sense.

You have got some great advice already and I'll add another vote for the attack pants. I love them and feel they are very versatile. I think they would do what you want. They block the wind enough to take the edge off. I don't think you will regret getting a pair.

Hey JC...:)

I wore Attack pants exclusively on my (infamous) caribou hunt last year. I had rain gear and when it was exceptionally wet or wild I topped off with that. I've got the Chinook lineup and it's good, though...maybe has the edge over the Attack pants. Worth the extra money? That's a personal thing based on budget. I do think the Attack pant is extremely comfortable and versatile. Not completely windproof but nothing is unless it's also waterproof. Guide pants are outstanding in chilly and colder weather, but might roast you above 50F if packing or exerting hard. I started taking a pair of Tiburon pants for those situations.

Thanks for the heads up Mr. Dill!

I do have a great set of rain gear if it comes to that. The Kanabs would get used during pronghorn chasing and when it's hot out during elk season.

The Attacks (I ordered them and the Teton jacket) would be for when it drops below 50 with some wind.

Also a heads up Kevin, my new Whip HS should be here today or tomorrow!!!

Love my attacks. Like others have said, I recently got a pair of kanabs 2 and like them, but prefer the feel and wind shield of the attacks.

I wore the Attacks all this past hunting season, from August - October. They were the most comfortable hunting pant I have every owned. I had in the past wore UA, Cabela's, and Bass Pro pants. Loved the hip vents! Bought a pair of Alpines that I am really excited about.
