Firehole Hunter
Lil-Rokslider
Last year I had a 1850 when I went on a "Guided Hunt", but this year I got the 3200 bag to go with my suspension and frame for my first DIY elk hunt in Colorado. I must say that I was very impressed with the pack in that I was using it as a day pack. We had camped within a mile of where we killed 2 elk, a cow and my 4x5 bull about 5-10 minutes apart. Although I thought that I had an outfitter who was either going to rent me a horse or haul the meat out for me, I had to do it myself and was prepared to do so. Although my partner was not overly anxious to try, we managed to get to get both elk out by staging the elk and leap-frogging the elk meat up and down the mountain. Understand that we are 56 and 61 years old and not in the greatest of shape. We both had the 3200 backpacks. Load sling mode was very easy to set up and keep the weight up high an not put extra weight (pain) on the low back or shoulders. I know I sound like a commercial but the pack really delivered for us and wanted to put that out there. Although, other packs may have worked just as good or even better, I was very impressed as to how my KUIU worked for me that day even in the dark.
