Anyone that knows me knows I love me some Kryptek (everything I own is Highlander). I thought I had lost my mind paying $400ish for a good quality camo set. I was just prompted by an email to check out Kryptek's new "Altitude" offerings. Holy $&!/!!!!! The Bora set is $1,050.00 and the Takur set is $1350.00!!! I love you Kryptek but man.... stop the madness!

On the bright side though, when guys start getting personal loans to buy camo, I should be able to find plenty of Highlander for sale!

I was told by one of the moderators "this is a gear forum" so I guess we're not supposed to say anything bad about the overpriced stuff out there. So I guess we should just suck it up and pay whatever they ask.

I think you misunderstood whichever moderator you're talking about. At Rokslide we encourage good discussions about gear and hunting but at the same time if you are just bitching we will bounce you out of here without a second thought.

I'm sure Ryan will chime in if he sees this post since I believe he had a chance to talk with Butch about this crazy expensive line of clothes.

The little bit that I know about this new Altitude line is that they were going for the absolute best and spared no expense when it came to materials and construction. I don't think they intended this line to be purchased by the average hunter, but more likely the small percentage of hunters who need something extreme.

Im doing my research on the Kryptek line up and it looks like they are using state of the art fabrics that respond to the conditions and moisture. its windproof, waterproof and allows heat and moisture to escape. I can definitely see why this stuff is so expensive but I am hoping our Fine Rokslide Brethren can test out the C Change Technology and let us know how this works and is up to the task as presented. Id really love to see some data also maybe some tests.

If this gear works the way they say it does I get it. Id have no problem dropping some coin on the kryptek line. basically the way its described you could call it smart clothing.

They offer clothing at all price points. People act like this is their only clothing line.

Butch said they designed it for sheep hunters and had no price point in mind. They wanted to produce the best product possible.

While you won't see me wearing it, you certainly won't see me bitching about it either. I do hope they sell the shit out of it.

I love the camo pattern.

It's made out of (in my opinion) the best fabrics available today. Their products are not cheap, and kryptek has placed a small premium on it because it is camo.

The thing is, if you look at it, think it's outrageous and don't recognize the Scholler name then it's not for you, or meant for you quit honestly. The bonus is you don't have to buy it.

Dryskin is probably my favorite fabric on earth good stretch, tuff as shit, water resistant, but unfortunatly those thunderbolt pants are skinny jeans and my legs are to big to be wearing them. If they adjusted the fit that's all that would be on my closet.

Unfortunately the more technical and niche a garment gets the more expensive it becomes to produce. You make less of them, you sell less of them, you don't get breaks buying the entrants or fabrics.

These prices aren't that crazy when compared to Arcteryx or other high end mountaineering gear. Average hunters won't need it but a select group will

First thing I thought was "Man I'm glad I don't have a need for that."

By the way, I predict they'll have a line for Treestand hunters next year. And I bet it won't be made of Unobtanium, maybe a variation on Vellus.

So it's basically made out of Avenger suit material. I can dig it.

I definitely felt manlier in the jacket isn't that all that matters?

Anyone ordering any?
