Anyone try both of these stocks, when I bought my CTR I thought I would drop it in a bravo but after looking at KRG’s website maybe the x-ray makes more sense. Weight difference is negligible and has a little bit more adjustability, thoughts?

This will be a combination hunting and range gun for sure.

Hunting the Bravo wins unless it’s dedicated belly shooting. Safety and bolt manipulation, while still having control with your primary hand is better than with the X-ray.

I personally feel for all around use, the bravo is the way to go. I like the xray grip better as it gives more control when moving with the weapon. However the ergos of the buttstock/comb are definitely more tactical/prs oriented. If you already shoot with a chassis a lot, it may not feel much different. I shoot a lot of chassis and carbon stocks(more tactical than sporter) and I have no problems crossing over between the two. The biggest point, set your stock/chassis up to fit your body and get your body position fundamentals down for proper recoil management.

I haven't shot the Bravo but I do shoot the X-ray. I use it for hunting, PRS type shooting, and the rucking/shooting competitions. I think the weight difference between it and the Bravo isn't a huge concern. I do like the pass through on the thumb. I have used it to strap the gun down to my pack and get better control of the rifle. I do have an earlier model and I should upgrade.

I have shot and owned all of the KRG's chassis and have swapped all my rifles over to the Bravo . The quick adjust length of pull on the Whiskey is a huge plus but can be had for the Bravo for a little more cash. The weight and ergos of the Bravo just work out better for me especially on my hunting rigs.

What kind of clips are y’all running in your krg’s

I see Magpul takes some modifying I just want to get something fairly inexpensive that works.

is there a best bang for your buck a AICS mag?

Aics mags aren't cheap. Depending on your action cut, the magpul may work fine. I personally use or modify action to use aics no binder plate mags that give you internal length of 2.95-2.97" for loading closer to lands if needed. Not all actions will work with the longer mags, bullets will be caught under the feed ramp if it's not designed for them, or modded.

I'm running a Tikka in an mdt xrs chassis with arc aics mags. These have an internal length of 2.97" loading 143eldx at coal around 2.94" and it feeds great. The binder plate issue is more associated with remington 700 clones.
