KRG Bravo vs. Stocky’s VG for Hunting + PRS

Kicking around the idea of building a new budget rifle for longer range shooting. I would like to enter a few local PRS matches, just to learn and have a competitive driver to get better at positional shooting.

Will be a Howa 1500 in 6CM. For 25% hunting (inside of 500 yds.), 50% long range practice, and 25% PRS, what stock would you pick and why? KRG Bravo or Stocky’s VG?

Bravo seems like the easy choice. Weight and adjustability are your friend in PRS.

Is weight a concern? Then VG. If not, Bravo.

The MDT Field stock may be a balance between the two.

I really like the VG but the extra weight of the bravo would be more suited towards long range practice and PRS. On the 6 creed recoil isn’t going to be bad but the bravo will have the edge on it for staying on target.

If you’re not doing a ton of hiking or offhand shooting with the rifle I’d go that route

Ya the KRG bravo is a great option for covering all you want to do. It's a great value and it is very adaptable for hunting to shooting PRS with many option to add and take off.

So Im kind of in a similar boat. My main hunting rifle is a 6.5prc tikka in a stockys vg. For hunting and prone shooting it works awesome. I did take it to a local prs shoot and shot middle of the pack. The big thing I noticed for that was how light it was controlling recoil to see impacts (6.5prc is wrong choice for that but its what I had) and difficult to balance on odd barricades and obstacles. I just recently finished setting up a 6.5 creed tikka in a krg whiskey chassis for PRS. MUUUUUCHH heavier and easier to configure weights to balance on barricades. That being said there's no way id carry it farther than 100yds from the pickup.

I actually have both, both great stocks, if weight isn’t a big issue go with the bravo for adjustability and prs configuration. The vg will be lighter for hunting and still work okay for prs.
