KRG Bravo Opinions

Putting together my first bolt action build and am considering the KRG Bravo chassis. This is sort of a budget gun and will be mainly used just on the range so not as concerned about weight. Just looking to get some opinions on them since I don't have a way to actually put my hands on one locally. This will be used with a Bighorn Origin short action and a 22" 6.5 CM barrel chambered by PVA

I have on and really like it. I think it’s the best bang for your buck if weight isn’t a concern.

I have that exact setup, krg bravo using a bighorn origin in 6CM. I love the setup. The KRG is very comfortable. If anything negative, the Bravo is light in the buttstock.

I had a couple but have since moved on. I’d buy another. Kind of cheap feeling but the ergonomics are great as was the bedding block. Wasn’t a fan of how aics mags felt in the chassis, or aics mags for a hunting rifle in general but it functioned fine

For what your looking at it for I don’t think your going to beat it for the price

My progression through various stocks/chassis systems had me start with a KRG X-Ray years ago, then an MPA competition chassis, then a couple different Manners EHF1A/EH1 stocks, and my most recent purchase is a KRG Bravo. It's what I'll stick with moving forward.

I really like my Bravo too. I just saw that they came out with some weights if you need/want to add to buttstock.

I think they're pretty sweet. I definitely shoot better with one, and handle recoil better. However, I've taken my factory tikka 6.5CM and put it back in the factory stock for lighter weight and smoother magazine/feeding function.

That being said, I'm having a heavier tikka/bartlein build put together and plan on putting it in a Bravo chassis. For range/play, I think they're hard to beat and still are quite functional for hunting. Way better than hauling around an all aluminum chassis, especially in the cold.

Do you happen to know the weight of this setup? This is almost exactly what I want to do with my T3X, but after handling an S20 Precision and seeing an option for a 20” barrel, I’m wondering if that isn’t a better option to get away from the noisy AICS mags and exposed mag release. The 20” PRC is ~8.4# according to their website, and I’m guessing a Hunter forend could drop a little more.

EDIT: looks like the s20 precision would be 8.6#, and 8.16# for the hunter. Still not sure I could do better with a T3X/Bravo without extreme fluting.

I know it seems hokie, but simply slapping a vertical grip module on a T3 and raising the buttpad makes it extremely functional for its weight. Both of these mods are completely reversible and cost practically nothing to try.

Yes. I would forget about the mounting plate and just drill new mounting holes in the buttpad. Maybe you need the strength that metal spacer allows for heavy recoiling guns, but I doubt it.

The bravo is outstanding. Feels a little cheap, but frankly it is cheap, and in a good way. I've had two of them in the past. My use cases changed and I sold one of them as part of a rifle, and traded the other out for something lighter and more expensive that would take a L/a mag. I've had a KRG W3, Mesa Precision/AG Altitude, Manners T4a, Manners mini-chassis PRS1tk, McMillan Game Scout, B&C m40, B&C varmint/tactical, and two KRG Bravos. I've actually thought about trading the PRS1tk out for a bravo, if that says anything.

What are the benefits you see for the extra weight over Tikka stock or lighter carbon fiber stock?
