I may have a chance to move to Kremmling in the near future. I'm looking for any knowledge about the town. The good the bad the ugly any knowledge would be a great help. Feel free to pm me if you want.

Nice. Well good luck...I put in for the same job. I don't know a lot about the area, I've only been through there once or twice. Its not too far from Steamboat Springs which is a nice resort town. I know the elk hunting over towards steamboat was pretty decent. Not sure now.

Small town, cold winters as it is a low spot where the cold settles, good elk and mule deer hunting all around Kremmling in Grand County. 2 hours from Denver and an hour from Vail, Steamboat, 40 minutes from Winter Park, etc if you like to ski. Decent river (Colorado) and lake fishing for trout, also northern pike in Williams Fork Reservoir.

I have a friend who moved there for work. He dislikes the town. Loves the country but the town is crap. It lacks a decent grocery store but does have like four liquor stores... he basically describes the population as cliques of rednecks. Also, he camped for like four months before finding a crappy apartment to rent. The neighbors looked like they could probably tell you where to find some meth. He recently got into a trailer to rent though.

I wouldn't want to live in that town, personally.

Yes, there are fish in the lakes and deer/elk in the mountains.

My experience there was from staying at the local hotel for 3 nights. Agree with above statement it seemd kind of sketchy in some areas but I think you will probably get that with any of the small towns. The local bar did have a good grill but then again we were hungry at the same time too. Silverthorne/Dillon is due south on Hwy9 and they are working on building the land bridge for animals to cross too. (may have one done already)

I did feel like it was out in the middle of nowhere however price of living is also probably reflected in that too. I'm not from that area so someone else who frequents there more often can probably provide a better understanding of the people who live there.

Gritty, functional mountain town. Not the charming, cozy mountain town. We use it as a logistics hub while hunting, and I have no dislike of the place, just don't expect your wife unit to fall madly in love with the place. Surrounded by lots of pretty country, though!

I agree with all of the above comments. Nearest real towns are either Silverthorne or Granby and if you are married I would suggest looking to live somewhere closer to either. It really is a location for everything hunting and fishing though and the town gets pretty crazy during hunting season. There's some great fly fishing in Jurassic Park (Blue River below the Green Mountain dam). Most of the touristy areas are just east with Granby, Grand Lake, Frasier and Winter Park. If you like to ski, you won't have too bad of a drive to Steamboat which is not as crowded due to the long drive from Denver. Hot Sulphur Springs might be a good compromise as a place to live that isn't a bad drive from both work and civilization (there is a City Market in Granby).

Like people have said... not a great town but not a bad one either. Kinda hick-ish but very close to "civilization. Not much to do there. You could always look into living somewhere else and commuting into Kremling. It is so close to some great hunting and fishing though. I would go for it

Just honest answers, I agree with everything said. Best thing about kremmling is it's location. Worst thing is it's location is the only good thing.

It's really a pit stop between two tourist traps Steamboat springs and Silverthorne.

I really do appreciate all the info!! I was just having a little fun. I live in a town with only 2000 people now and have to drive 1 to 2 hours for anything big.

Look on the bright side. You'd be leaving ND Kidding of course. I have ben thru there many times in the last 25 years and could not see myself taking the family there to live.
