I haven't used it much. Maybe once or twice dressing whitetails. The blade is rustfree. The handle isn't perfectly clean. I've only washed it in the sink and haven't tried any soak or u/s methods to get it perfectly clean.
The knife blade is d2 tool steel. I've mostly switched to replaceable blade knives because I suck at sharpening. This knife is better off with someone who knows how to sharpen.
