Jut curious if anyone has weighed their mountaineer? More specifically I’m looking at the straight stock version in 45 caliber.

If anyone has ever weighed just the straight laminate stock, I would be interested in knowing what it weighed by itself as well.

I don't have the mountaineer, but have bought several Boyd's laminate stocks over the years, plus have other factory rifles with laminated stocks, I can almost guarantee you that it won't be less than 2 lb and could be closer to 2.5 depending on the density of the wood.

Thank you.

If anyone with a mountaineer has the total rifle weight I would appreciate it. I’ve seen anywhere from 8.2 lbs to 9 lbs and was curious what it actually was.

The Stock that is used on the Knight Mountaineer is similar to what was used on the Kinight Extreme Models and the other Knight DISC Bolt Action Rifles they are almost intercahangeable with a little inletting maybe needed. But that goes for "Boyd's" Stocks they are not a true fit some say also need a little work to get it right and then possible bedding.
It could also depend on the LOP as 1 Stock I have is only 12.5 inches yet it was to be 13.5 as the "standard" LOP on Knight Rifle Stocks which can chnage the weight. And Knight does not Sell Stocks anymore but for the Plunger Models nothing for an Extreme, Mountaineer or Ultra Light. Seems Knight also won't allow past stock vendors to sell them as well Like B&C was one and they tell you they don't offer any Knight Rifle Stocks te only 1 is Boyd's unless you have a Custom bullt 1 made and that is some $.

Thank you, as long as it is somewhere in that 8-8.5 lb range that will be fine. I just didn’t want to get one if they were 9 lbs or more.
