Kind of tired of Bagel/B-Hole sandwiches, alternatives??

Wow, we went from No artificial preservatives to a Dozen donuts- grin

I do the foil packs of meat; Chicken, tuna, salmon
Bars
Mixed nuts- TJ has the individual packets
Dried mango, figs, prunes and Jerky
Can sardines- even though they make you smell like a sardine
and those little halloween candy bars

I’m big on honey stingers with the Justin’s almond butter for lunch. I go between that and these almond flour crackers Aldi carries (rosemary and parm) with salami, pepperoni and cheese.

Btw aldi carries freeze dried strawberries, chocolate covered bananas and dehydrated mangos. I carry some of all of that stuff usually to eat with breakfast. Typically granola and protein powder with said fruits.

A few years back I was on a kick of tortillas with peanut butter, bacon and a spicy type of pickle. It was kind of a weird combo but it was good. I probably got the idea for that from this forum. I'm convinced you can match PB with about anything and it will taste good.

Spread peanut butter on a tortilla, drizzle honey and add a few strips of precooked bacon from costco. Roll that up and it should last a few days without refrigeration.

Tortilla salami, cheese and honey mustard. Keep the tortilla separate or it'll get soggy. Or don't, and it'll just be soggy haha never really bothered me. Honey mustard or whatever packet from a convenient store. I've premade mine before, I've assembled in the field. Whatever is easiest for you, doesn't seem to matter.

the power of tortilla wraps is made better by the users' ability to steal condiment packets from gas stations!
tortilla + summer sausage + mustard packet + cheese = amazing!

If you haven't tried cooking summer sausage over a fire, then you haven't lived yet!
It can even be done over the fire of your JetBoil type system and is well worth the fuel used to do so!

I dont really bring any ultra processed crap or bread into the field with me anymore. The closest I get are bars.

RX Bars and Lara Bars, sometimes Cliff bars. Summer sausage or Pepperoni / salami for lunch. If it's a day hunt I'll do ham or roast beef and cheese roll ups.

Some type of rice and beef or rice and chicken for dinner. I used to do Peaks, but last year I started dehydrating my own stuff.

Im about to start experimenting with dehydrating scrambled eggs and sausage as well.

The fat in the sausage will make it non-shelf stable once dehydrated. It will be fine unrefrigerated for a day or two depending on temps.

I was going to look into this. If I dehydrate, vacuumed seal and freeze them. And then take them out and put them in my pack for a 3 day hunt, do you think they would be ok?

Yeah. They should be. I've tossed frozen bacon and steaks into the bottom of my sleeping quilt in my pack and they have stayed frozen for a surprising length of time even in warm temps. Even longer if it gets cool out at night.
