I purchased my first Kimber Montana back in 2004 and since then, I’ve been on a personal quest to find a Kimber that doesn’t shoot for shit, just like all the ones that I read about online. Now, 16 years and 9 Kimber light wt. rifles later, I just continue to strike out. Had my latest Kimber (I bought it about six or eight months ago), out to the range today and we’ll, it looks like my quest continues.
.308 Adirondack shooting 130gr. Factory Barnes TTSX ammo. 4 shot group at 100 yards (shot all within about a minute or 2), then took it out to 300 yards and fired two more rounds. Two rounds about 1 1/2” apart at 300 yards. This, coming from a rifle that’s sporting a 16” barrel and weighs just over 5 1/2 lbs. all up, as she goes into the field.

I’m getting kind of tired of reading about all the Kimber lightweight rifles that won’t shoot, because for the life of me, I can’t seem to find one.

Nice shooting. I think my next rifle will be a short action with a short barrel to put my can on, and was actually looking at the Adirondack earlier today. Timely post

I’ve only bought one, but get about same results as you. Good to see that adirondike does about the same.

Even with the short barrel, those 130 grainer’s are still doing around 3100fps out of the muzzle, and they’re verrry flat.

Same as silvereagle, I’ve only got one but I love that thing. Sitting in the gear pile waiting to be loaded for my 1st season elk hunt in the morning. Montana 308.

Bought mine for my Alaska dall sheep hunt for aug ‘21.

Glad you posted this. Im not currently looking for a rifle but have previously looked away from Kimber because of the numerous negative reports. While there are bad apples with most any company its reassuring to hear your extensive positive experiences.

I'm sure most do, and I've heard especially the newer ones. I unfortunately have one if the less fortunate ones. Glad to hear - the are good looking rifles with a lot of good features for the price.

You know how it is. Only those that think they have a negative thing to post do so.
All those that are happy, don’t bother to give positive posts.
Also, light weight rifles aren’t as forgiving to shoot.

i've had a half dozen kimbers that all shot well and most carried fixed power leupolds. only three left as i've supplied friends with quality rifles.

What a pos.

My kimbers have all been great, my Montana 308 shoots like the ones in this thread, my dads mountains scent 300wsm is similar and my wife’s Adirondack 6.5 creed is the same.

I sometimes wonder if it’s guys shooting multiple rounds through them and getting the barrels really hot.
