Have you bedded the action, and lug? After doing that, mine doesn't seem to care; no POI shift taking the barreled action of the stock and reinstalling, pretty much regardless of exact torque. Before there was stock flexing on tightening and it probably mattered more.
If you don't bed the trigger guard, it might be a good idea to leave the front TG screw a little loose. My TG will add flex when tightening if the front screw is snug (doesn't fit squarely in the TG pocket and I've never bothered bedding the TG).
Wild that different answers come straight from Kimber these days. I've always used 45 on the front, 35 on the rear. That's what I was told by CS. I cranked one up to 65 one time after reading a post on here and the sound the stock was making was no bueno, so I went back to the old standard. (synthetic stock)
3 of my 5 Kimber rifles will shoot 5 under 1" with no rest between shots, the other 2 hover right around 1.5"...which makes me reconsider tightening things down again for science...but I don't want to bust a stock and have to deal with Kimber CS roulette.
