Was tossing around the idea of getting an Assent in. 6.5 CM, and had a few questions. First, I was wondering if anyone has ever bedded a kimber rifle. I was wondering what the results were compared to before the bedding as far as accuracy. Second, if anyone reloads for their 6.5 what brass are you finding that last the longest?

Thanks

Kimber is factory bedded. (y)

I have 2 MAs one in 280AI and the other 30-06, I also have a Adirondack in 6.5mm Creedmore. All three will shoot moa or better. These are made to carry, if you want a one hole bench rifle, may not be for you. Light rifle by their very nature, take some practice to shoot well. Happy with all mine and would buy another or recommend them to a friend.

My Mtn Ascent in .308 shoots <moa bone stock, with a Leupold VX3 cds I'm banging steel at distances I've never attempted with other rifles, and its a pleasure to carry. It has greatly increased my confidence. Also leaves me with some extras lying around so if anyone is looking for a Savage lrh .300 mag or some Nikon scopes, I got you!

So every kimber that leaves their factory has the action bedded, or they come factory with pillars? I saw a picture of Kimbers stocks and I saw the pillars, but it looked like the action was not bedded.

They have pillars and are bedded to a slave action in the recoil lug area. I've re-bedded mine, including around the action and tang.

As far as bedding goes, rifles are individuals. Some will react, some won't.

If I were you, I'd shoot it first. It may be just fine without you having to mess with it.
