Looking at one of these in a 280ai. Does anyone have any hands on experience with the new models?

I have experience with the short action versions. Happy to answer any specific questions, but in my experience, the new stock and hinged floor plate are the only major changes from the older Mountain Ascents. I consider both to be upgrades.

What scopes do you guys fit the your rifles with? How is the recoil of the 280ai on such a light rifle? Accuracy?

I put a Nightforce SHV 3-10 on mine. Recoil is pretty mild, especially with the brake. Mine shot right about an inch with a couple different brands of ammo, both to the same point of impact. It comes with a 5/8 adapter so I used that and put an area 419 hellfire brake and accuracy went to hell. I can only think with that heavier brake on the end it messed with harmonics. I’m going to pull that off and try a lighter brake or just go back to the radial brake.
